Maths builds on itself: a gap left in one year quietly makes the next year harder. That is why our maths tuition starts by finding out exactly where your child is — then fills the gaps, rebuilds confidence, and moves them forward. Whether the goal is catching up, keeping up, or aiming for top grades, we teach maths in a way that finally makes sense.
Wallington Academy has taught local students since 1999. We teach maths in small groups (and one-to-one) at our centre in Wallington, as well as live online, with regular practice and honest feedback so you always know how your child is progressing.

GCSE Maths
Full coverage for AQA, Edexcel and OCR, at both Foundation and Higher tier, with past-paper practice matched to your child’s board.
A-level Maths
Pure, mechanics and statistics, with the step up in rigour and exam technique A-level demands.
How we teach maths
- Diagnostic first. We assess before we teach, so time is spent on what actually needs work.
- Gaps, then growth. We close the underlying gaps that hold students back, then build fluency and confidence.
- Method that matches school. We align to your child’s curriculum and exam board so nothing contradicts the classroom.
- Exam technique. Showing method to earn marks, reading questions carefully, and pacing — not just getting the answer.
- Small groups. Up to six students, so teaching is pitched to the right level, with one-to-one available.

Common questions
What ages and levels of maths do you teach?
We teach maths from primary school through to A-level: KS1 and KS2, 11+ entrance maths, GCSE Maths for AQA, Edexcel and OCR at both Foundation and Higher tier, and A-level Maths. We assess each student first and place them on the right plan.
How big are your maths groups?
Small groups of up to six students, so teaching can be pitched to the right level, with one-to-one tuition also available in person at our Wallington centre or live online.
Do you teach maths online as well as in person?
Yes. You can choose in-person sessions at our Wallington centre or live online lessons, whichever suits your family. Both follow the same structured plan and feedback.
How do you know what my child needs to work on?
We start with a diagnostic assessment to find the gaps and strengths, then build a plan around them rather than teaching everything from scratch. Progress is tracked topic by topic and shared with parents.
Do you follow my child’s school method and exam board?
Yes. We align to your child’s year-group curriculum and, for GCSE and A-level, to their specific exam board so the methods and notation match what they see in class.
